Description
This is a scarce THE METHODIST MAGAZINE, VOL 1, 1818, leather bound. The volume is complete, containing all the publications from 1818, January through December. This was the inaugural issue, so, essentially, it is a first edition. It continued to be published until 1826, when it then became "The Christian Advocate". The book is tightly bound and does not appear to have any loose pages. There is extensive foxing throughout and the title page is torn at the binding but still firmly attached. Please study the pictures as I am NOT a bookseller so I try to disclose as much as possible in the pictures and in my description. The publisher is Joshua Soule and Thomas Mason, NY and the printer is the notable John Totten. The book provides an interesting glimpse into EARLY AMERICAN METHODISM! I personally consider it to be in 'good condition' considering it is 209 years old!
The item arrived in perfect condition, I nearly cried when I saw how beautiful it was in person. It was well packaged and arrived in a timely manner. It's now the crown jewel of my collection. Everything is as described and well worth what I paid.
