THE PAINTER IS Raev Semyon Borisovich (1932–2001) Artist, architect, graphic artist, painter, medalist, poster artist. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR and the Union of Artists of Russia. Semyon Borisovich Raev was born in Moscow. Studied at the Moscow School of Architecture and Art (1949–1952). He worked in the field of sculpture, painting, medal art, applied graphics, restoration; was engaged in the design of exhibitions (1952-1961). By order of the publishing houses "Zorya", "Plakat" - "Panorama" he performed posters on the theme of international politics (1961-1992). The most famous artist brought propaganda posters on the topics of domestic and international politics. The recognition of artistic style in the art of the poster of the 70s is not a very frequent occurrence. Not always, looking at the poster, you can say exactly who created it. But there are typical features that are characteristic of Raev's works - a special lyricism and warmth with which the artist gives the viewer children's and women's images. The artist skillfully combined the monochrome image and a complex drawing, reminiscent of an engraver's stroke on a copper plate; worked in the technique of photocollage. Main works: posters “Pride of the Five-Year Plan”, “Vietnam won, solidarity won”, “Soviet era / Aurora-Venus!” (1967), "Lenin's anniversary - our shock work!" (1969), “Glory to labor! Glory to science! This is our mind, these are our hands!” (1970), “Not only for my country…”, “The XXV Congress of the CPSU is our shock work!”, “1975 is the international year of the woman”, “Having circled the earth in a satellite ship, I saw how beautiful our planet is... "," Vietnam won, solidarity won! arms race! (1977), "BAM. This is how steel is tempered! (1977), “Games of the XXII Olympiad. Moscow 1980" (1979), "XXVI Congress of the CPSU. Moscow is speaking!”, “Peace to the nations!”, “Space flight is not a personal feat. This is the achievement of communism. Y. Gagarin "(all -1981)," No war! (1982), "Imperialism is colonialism, racism, fascism" (1983), "International Women's Day March 8" (1985), "CIA - the policy of state terrorism" (1985), "Stop the nuclear arms race!", "For atrocities - to account!", "Atom - only for the world, space - only for the world!", "Let's work hard to block the way to war!" (all -1986), "Long live the mind!" (1987), "If you want peace, fight for peace!" (1988), "Soviet-Bulgarian space flight" (1988), "April 12 - the first, great step of mankind in space" (1989). He performed some posters together with the poster artist E. V. Abezgus (“Saving 1 cm on each electrode during the shift, the welder saves 60 kilograms of metal per year ...”, 1979). The artist participated in republican, all-Union and international exhibitions and poster competitions. He was awarded Bronze medals of VDNH (1977, 1981), Silver medals of VDNKh (1980, 1985). In 1983, Semyon Raev received the VDNKh Gold Medal. He worked on portraits of prominent political figures in Russia and other countries. In the 1990s, he again turned to medal art. Circulation posters of S. B. Raev are in the funds of the Russian (RSL) and Belarusian state libraries (NLB), in the Museum of the Political History of Russia, the State Museum of the History of St. AGKM), the Volsk Museum of Local Lore (VKM), the Vyborg United Museum-Reserve, the Magadan Regional Museum of Local Lore (MOKM), the Morshansk Museum of History and Art (MIHM), the Museum-Reserve "Dmitrovsky Kremlin", the Museum of Novosibirsk (MGN), the Novorossiysk Historical Museum -reserve (NIMZ), Nevyansk State Historical and Architectural Museum (NGIAM), Stavropol State Museum-Reserve, Tver State United Museum (TGOM), State Museum and Exhibition Center ROSPHOTO, Museum of K.
