Grateful Dead : Dick's Picks 15 Volume Fifteen : September 3, 1977 ( 9/3/1977 ) - Raceway Park - Englishtown, New Jersey ( NJ ) : 3 CD : 1999 (1977/1999) Grateful Dead Productions, Inc. ( GDP ) - GDCD 4035 : Original ! First ( 1st ! ) Printing ! : Brand New / Factory Sealed ! : Out of Print !! ... & Very-Rare !!!!! Dick's 1st Posthumous Release ! & One of the Very-Best !! " Dick's Picks " Ever !!!!! ... The " Original ! " GDP, Inc. First ( 1st! ) Printing -- GDCD 4035 !!! - Brand New / Factory-Sealed !!!!! The Grateful Dead treating a Massive-Crowd ! in the New York Area to an Exceptional Concert ! on the 1977 " Terrapin Station " Tour !!!!! Englishtown '77. Simply mention " Englishtown " in the Deadhead Universe & People-Listen, because they know just exactly what You are Saying !!! This Monumental ! Dick's Picks Volume 15 release marks the 3rd return from the fantastic year of 1977 Grateful Dead. The sad part however, is that this is the 1st ' Posthumous Release ' with Dick Latvala " Keeper of the Vault " passing in 1999 and joining Pigpen, Keith, Brent & Jerry. Very sad for us, but maybe not so bad for them since they probably have one heck of a band up there - with Dick's still rollin' the reels ! The inside Liner Notes feature a photo of the completely massive Englishtown crowd ( looks like 100,000's + of Dead Fans ?!! ) and right next to it lies the following message: "People of Earth.... Greetings from the great beyond. I am contacting you at this time to assure you that all is well and to let you know that Dick's Picks shall continue in my absence just as before. My plans for future releases are well known to my teammates and they have sworn with their blood to remain true to the cause. I hope this release will alleviate any doubts concerning my posthumous powers." -- And for the years to come, Dick's teammates did indeed keep this promise - all the way through Dick's Picks # 36 ( released in 2005 ). So, I'm not entirely certain if this release was initially " planned " as DP # 15 ?, or if it was perhaps pulled out of order and numbered / released ( impromptu ) as # 15 in Mr. Latvala's honor ?? The reason I puzzle this quandary, is because 9/3/77 is an UNBELIEVABLE !!! Heater - a Stellar-throughout Cosmic Chunk of Grateful Dead ! I mean just look at the size of the crowd they are playing to -- totally amazing ! This is a serious Rock-Concert situation, in a serious Rock-Concert region, right at the tail-end of the Rock-Concert Golden Era : the Late-70's !!! There are as many rockers ( i.e. Promised Land - Minglewood - Music ), as there are subtle-sweet tunes ( T.L.E.O. - Peggy-O - F.O.T.D. ) in the 1st Set with exceptional music & vocal efforts. The Music Never Stopped is indeed awesome & powerful ! Set 2 offers a " Rock 'n Roll " History style delivery by the Dead : Bertha > Good Lovin' offers a memorable vocal rap by Weir on the back end while trading with Donna & the Boys. Jerry puts his trademark stamp on Loser ! For the back-end of the 2nd Set ( CD-3 ), you'd just as well go put on your seat-belt because you are in for a ride ..... He's Gone > NFA ( one of the best, seriously. ) -- ( it should be noted that Garcia puts the hammer-down on the MXR Distortion + pedal ( chords & leads !! ), and to this day I cannot listen to this without getting goose-bumps -- it'll cook your speaker cones for dinner ! ) > Truckin' ( WoW ! ). Then Phil comes out and delivers an ad for the Deadheads to Go & Buy " Terrapin Station " - how awesome, as those were certainly the days. Note : In an effort to honor Phil's request, let's see ?? OK, I've purchased " Terrapin " on vinyl, cassette, CD, CD Again, CD Remaster. Yes, he is right -- it is that important. Then they step up to the mats, and deliver a wonderful & heartfelt version of " Terrapin " as an Encore for the New York Metro die-hard fans. Earth to Dick ... you have been honored in this release. But wait, YOU ! picked it -- so you actually honored Us ! in turn, yet once again ?!! And for that ( & this ! ) we say " Thanks Dick !!!! ". Without a doubt my favorite Dead Head memorabilia vendor around!!! I Can’t express enough how much this seller puts out the good vibes and really pays attention to detail. Lightning fast shipping all the way to hawaii and was packaged wonderfully! I will be coming back again and telling my friends. He shared some history that I didn’t already know about the shirts I bought which I really appreciated. Very fair pricing and was exactly as described. Listed as brand new. They are indeed brand new!
This seller was the sweetest person I’ve communicated with on this app. Responded quickly, and shipped even faster. The card came wrapped in multiple layers of bubble wrap, tape, and cardboard. Completely protected from the elements and well preserved. Would definitely recommend!
Highly recommended seller! Always has the rarest of the rare Dead relics. Pass came exactly as described and at a good value. Packaging and shipping was top notch. Will def be shopping again. A+++
