Otherwise, have someone assist by holding the hood/tailgate open to adjust the angle as needed. 2. Verify Before Removal Before removing the old lift support, check the end connector type and extended length to ensure they match the ball studs and specifications on your vehicle. 3. Remove the Old Lift Support Insert a small flat-head screwdriver under the U-shaped spring clip at the end of the support. Gently twist to lift the clip about 3 mm, then pull the support off the ball stud. 4. Install the New Lift Support Follow the removal steps in reverse. Important: Do not force the new support onto the ball stud without slightly lifting the U-shaped spring clip, as this may cause damage. 5. Installation Condition The lift support must be installed in the fully extended position. Typically, it cannot be compressed before installation. If you encounter any issues, please contact us— never force the support . 6. Aligning the Ends If the ends do not align with the ball studs, try rotating the body. First, attach the rod end (the thinner end) to the vehicle’s ball stud. Then, rotate the cylinder body (the thicker end) clockwise until the other end aligns with the corresponding ball stud.
