It prevents debris from entering the gas tank and also keeps tank hose firmly in place. On the end of the tank hose is the Fuel Strainer Valve, a very important part. It's a one way valve, which prevents gas from being siphoned back into the tank when the engine is stopped. Used on Harley Davidson and Columbia golf carts with a plastic gas tank. Revising my previous negative review as the seller was on vacation and did not have ability to personally respond to my request for right size items. The automated emails did not go out either unfortunately so I just assumed my issues weren’t going to be addressed. I do understand hiccups occur and am appreciative of the seller reaching out even after EBay refunded my money.
These work just as they should, well made for what they cost. Item as pictured. He shipped the item fast but had a shipping issue that was NOT the sellers fault that greatly delayed the delivery of these.
