Remove the brake caliper and rotor. Support the brake caliper with an "S" hook or wire. Remove the axle nut using the axle nut socket. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for nut replacement. Before removing the hub unit, note the correct orientation and location of the sensor wires and bearings. Disconnect the ABS sensor wire from its mating connector point and retaining clip. Remove the steering knuckle fixing bolts. You may need a puller to remove the hub assembly. Do not damage the steering knuckle or axle. Clean and inspect the steering knuckle. Use a fine file, wire brush, emery cloth, or honing stone to remove any chips, nicks, or burrs. Hub unit bearing installation Insert the new hub assembly into the steering knuckle. When inserting the hub assembly, check the position of the splines on the axle. Never force the hub assembly onto the axle or hit it with a hammer. Use a torque wrench to tighten the knuckle bearing mounting bolts to the vehicle manufacturer's specifications. Do not use impact wrenches. Attach the new ABS sensor that has been installed on the new bearing to its matching attachment point and snap it in the wheel well and frame area. Install the axle nut. Use a torque wrench to tighten the nuts to the vehicle manufacturer's torque specifications. Do not use impact wrenches. Replace brake discs and calipers. All components should be clean and free of debris and burrs.
