Description Offered is an original Cuban Civil Mission certificate issued for service in the People’s Republic of Angola, personally signed by Fidel Castro and dated “1979.” The certificate was originally awarded to: Bienvenido Ponce Llanes It certifies that he: “Remained in the People’s Republic of Angola for one year, during which period he satisfactorily fulfilled the internationalist mission entrusted to him in this brother country.” The document bears the official insignia of the Cuban Civil Mission in Angola and the printed signature of Jorge Risquet Valdés , Member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party and Head of the Cuban Civil Mission in Angola.
