This is a pair of decks; the ORIGINAL Dead Man’s Deck, and the second version of it. Neither is the “unharmed” version. They were NOT sold plastic wrap on the tuck box. Please note that the v1 tuckbox has a stray drop of ink in the upper right corner from the factory, as shown in the close-up photo. Sure be a conversation starter, these cleverly done and totally unique decks are based on the infamous death of James "Wild Bill" Hickock, a Civil War veteran and celebrated gunfighter. Wild Bill was shot in the back during a poker game before he could play his hand...and legend has it that he held Aces and Eights: The Dead Man´s Hand. Each of the morbid cards in this deck has a bullet hole straight through its middle, and the infamous "Dead Man’s Hand” is splattered with bloody red ink. The design is true to the time period, with an ornate, grey pattern and old-style faces.
