I believe the base is silver painted wood but could be resin. Snows when shaken. Music plays nicely when Sankyo music box handle is turned. Plays "We Wish You A Merry Christmas". Measures approx. 6.25"H x 4.25" in diameter. Comes as seen in the pictures.
