The cover is very soft so it will add more comfort between you and any water mattress. Cover helps protect the water mattress against punctures and it will also help keep the sheets in place better. Your will notice that your heater will turn on less which will save you some cash on the electric bill. When installing this cover you would put the cover in your waterbed frame first and then unzip it open and place your Heater, Liner and Water Mattress inside the cover and fill it like you normally would and then zip it closed. Your mattress will look just like a regular mattress inside your waterbed frame The zipper runs along the top side edge like a suite case.
