I acquired this original Boeing News Bureau photo from an estate sale of a past Boeing employee. The description of the photo says, "Taken from a light airplane over Harper Dry Lake, California, this photo shows the Boeing jet transport prototype during a takeoff run. The aircraft, equipped with soft-field landing gear recently completed a three-day test program in the area, demonstrating the feasibility be of operating large military jet transports into austere, support-type fields. Wheel tracks in the foreground indicate softness of terrain over which the 90-ton aircraft was operated. The lake bed is covered with a thin sun-baked crust beneath which is wet silt of the consistency of modeling clay." --Boeing Photo From : News Bureau The Boeing Company Seattle, Washington 98124 The back of the photo is stamped, "P36714" It's in very nice condition with a very slight crease on the right border.
