Description

This handmade perfume or snuff bottle was purchased in Bancroft, an antique store in the Sandton section of Johannesburg, South Africa several years ago. It is handmade. The lid fits firmly, but is removable. It originally had a broken long chain, which I took off, intending to replace it. The dealer thought it was probably intended as a perfume bottle pendant due to the faint pink accents on the side of the cream body. The tip and bottom frame are silver, and the top has two rings to attach a chain. There is a ring on the lid that would allow a small chain to be attached to prevent the loss of the lid. I will also include a sterling necklace that could be attached to the rings as part of the August sale. Please feel free to ask any questions or for additional pictures. There is no perfume odor in the bottle. I have included a picture of a similar 19th century Chinese bottle for comparison only. There is another example in an Italian museum. I do not have any papers or provenance for the bottle. Final sale.

  1. Absolutely love this unique antique pendant! The delicate silver frame and soft pink accents give it a charming vintage vibe. The lid stays secure but removes easily, making it perfect for holding a drop of perfume or as a stylish keepsake. The craftsmanship is beautiful—handmade with attention to detail, and the two rings on top make it easy to attach a new chain. Such a rare find with a cool backstory from Johannesburg! Perfect for adding a touch of old-world elegance to any outfit.
