Description: If you’ve had your car for a little while, you probably don't think too much about your car door handle - until one day you grab the door handle to get in and it feels "off." You can’t quite place it but it just doesn’t feel right. The handle seems to operate, but it’s as though the door is still locked. How to install Interior Door Handle? Step 1: Remove the door screws. Find all the screws before you start to pull the door panel. Step 2: Separate the door panel from the fastener/clip. Use a suitable decorative panel removal tool and touch the outer edge of the door panel. Insert the trim panel removal tool between the door and interior trim panel, and then gently pry the door panel from the clip. Step 3: Remove the door trim. After separating from the fixing clip, gently push up the door panel from the bottom. The top edge of the door panel will pop out along the window. Reach behind the door panel and unplug all electrical connectors of the power window/door lock/luggage compartment/fuel door release button. Raise the door panel completely, adjust the angle of the door panel and/or door handle assembly, and pull it back from the opening in the door panel to raise it completely. Step 4: If necessary, remove the plastic vapor barrier. Carefully remove the vapor barrier completely, do not cut it open, and keep the inner door properly sealed. Step 5: Remove the inner door handle mechanism. Unscrew any nuts or bolts holding the door handle in place. There is a rod from the inner door handle to the latch mechanism, usually held together by plastic clips. Remove them carefully, remove the broken handle, and replace it with a new one. Step 6: Loosely reinstall the inner door panel. Before fixing anything in place, test the function of the inner and outer door handles. Reconnect all electrical connectors you removed and snap the door panel back into the retaining clip. Step 7: Reinstall all screws and decorative parts.
