History of this item : This Scrap book was the personal property of George W. Story, who was a very young Sports Department Staffer for the Oregon Journal Newspaper in Portland Oregon. Mr. Story (who also was a avid Golfer) worked at the Journal during his High School years and then went on to college at Stanford University. He created several scrap books like this one, dating from 1927-1933 (sold separately), 100's of articles in each book, this item is for the years 1927-1928 . This Book is mostly all Sports related articles, some Local Portland, College, Pacific Northwest area, National College(s), Major League Baseball, PCL, Football, Basketball, Boxing, Olympics (Trials & related), Golf, Auto Racing, along with Worldwide Sports & More - some ticket stubs (& or passes) are included when indicated - Articles can include several columns & smaller - Has wear - See Details & Images Below . Antique expandable style Scrapbook - Size: approx. 100 pages total (front & back), est. 11" x 14-1/2", artlicles are on newsprint paper in regular, green & pinkish papers, Black cloth like covers has wear & tears (needs a bit of glue), Newsprint paper articles are glued onto thick black paper, Not brittle , neatly done, many articles have a handwritten date near the top, articles appear to be arranged in order by date not by sport, mixed content - used ticket stubs are mostly in book with photo mount corners but some may be glued down, stubs may have hand written Scores on front ( notations & or dates) , (sorry No photos or program books) - 90 year old vintage material - Sold As-Is - What you see is what you will receive - This Book is Fully packed!
