Webster, Clerk of Court, on Morgan County Circuit Court, Berkeley Springs, West Virginia letterhead and Col. S.W. Walker (a Martinsburg, West Virginia Attorney). There is one on letterhead from Webster, the court clerk, to Walker that is business at top (failure to receive a copy of a case decided by the state Supreme Court). At the bottom is a P.S. where Webster imitates hillbilly talk about setting up a hunt for "Rabbits nd turkeys nd...DEERs". The second letter is a copy of the reply sent to Webster. The top part says he will take up the missing case with the Clerk of the Supreme Court. The bottom part is about setting up the hunt. "I will come up on the early train. You must let me know what kind of ammunition to bring, because I do not know what we are going to hunt, whether quail, turkeys, bear, deer or elephants. I am going to be governed entirely in this by what you suggest." The third letter is again a copy, of a letter from Walker, this time inquiring of the clerk of the Supreme Court about getting a copy of the case to the Morgan County clerk. The Political Graveyard website entry for Stuart Walker is as follows: Walker, Stuart W. — of Martinsburg, Berkeley County, W.Va. Democrat. Member of West Virginia state house of delegates from Berkeley County, 1893-94; U.S. Attorney for West Virginia, 1893-97; delegate to Democratic National Convention from West Virginia, 1912 (speaker), 1920; West Virginia Democratic state chair, 1912-13; U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of West Virginia, 1914-21. Burial location unknown. The last letter is VG condition with some small edge tears at bottom edge. The other letters are VG+ condition with normal mailing folds. A pin at the upper left corner holds all of the pages together, some wrinkles around that pin. I use a poor/fair/good/very good/excellent/mint grading system and grade very conservatively (see my feedback). This does NOT necessarily correspond to the generic Ebay grading system that we must use. Shipping is $3.95 in the U.S. International Buyers – Please Note Please obtain shipping quote before bidding.
